Request letter to landlord regarding rent.

As you well know I pay the rent every month in advance without any delay. But last month I have to incur a lot of expenditure on the treatment of my wife in Hospital where she has been admitted because of severe illness. It will not, therefore, be possible for me to pay the rent in advance for this month. However, I shall be able to pay two months’ rent next month when I am expecting some payment due to me from my employer.
Under these circumstances I shall be grateful if you kindly allow me to postpone the payment of my rent till the next month.
