The term pollution is derived from the Latin word pollutioneum meaning 'make dirty'. Rapid and unplanned industrialization, urbanization, deforestation cause the release of a variety of extraneous materials (inorganic, organic, biological or radiological) and energy into the environment in a continuous and uninterrupted manner.

The word 'environment' is derived from the French word environ, which means 'to surround' or 'around' and is referred to as the external conditions in which an organism lives.

I read in the DAV Higher Secondary School. It is not a Government School. It gets aid from the Government.
