The Occidental-oriented controversy lasted for about twenty- two years. Ultimately on February 2, 1935, Lord Bentinck gave his approval to the policy advocated by Lord Macaulay. The substance of Lord Bentinck declaration was as below:

Nalanda was the seat of Buddhist learning. It was built largely by Buddhist disciples, but Guptas, the orthodox Hindus also patronised it.

The Vedic period education ends near about 1400 B.C. After that Post-Vedic period education starts. This period regarded as of 800 years’ duration. Hence, it ends at 600 B.C.

In school, the curriculum should be modified to suit the needs of the dull children. Failure to achieve this adversely affects the development of all three kinds of children. Whereas the backward students start playing truant from school the brilliant children find the studies inadequate and turn their intellect to more perverse.

All the individuals differ in mental traits is much as they do in physical features. Whatever the conception of intelligence, all the psychologists and educators and even common people have believed since ancient times that there are various levels of intelligence some individuals are more intelligent than the others.

The modern psychologist has been taking more interest in measuring the intelligence than defining it. The processes of I measurement and their result have helped us a lot in discovering the nature of intelligence.
