Unemployment is one of the major socio-economic problems in India. Unemployment means the state of being out of work. There are various types of unemployment in India, like disguised, structural, seasonal, rural and urban unemployment. The problem of unemployment is more among the educated people. Unemployment is a waste of manpower. Socio-economic consequences of unemployment are very dangerous. The causes of unemployment are many. The government has been giving great importance to check this problem through various plans and schemes. Little success ahs been achieved. Effectible steps should be undertaken to solve this problem.
