The term ‘Yoga’ has been derived from the Sanskrit word ‘Yuj’ which means union, ‘Yoga Sutra’ of Patanjali is the oldest text book of yoga. Yoga has two firm bases. Viz. the physical and the spiritual. A regular practice of asanas and pranayam can prevent many diseases. The best time of doing these is early morning. The advice of yoga teachers is very important for doing asanas. Mediation, when practiced along with yoga enhances our concentration and relaxes the mind. ‘Hatha Yoga’ is one of the many forms of yoga. Yoga has no barriers of age, caste, religion or sex.
