This very easy to add the statcounter or any JavaScript in Joomla. This can be mainly done in two ways (a) Offline Method (b) Joomla Template Editor method. Just follow the below instruction.

Offline Method (Method – A)
ADVERTISEMENTS:
Open your templates/your template/index.php (templates/Ja_Trona/index.php) file in any editor i.e. MS FrontPage or Notepad.

Now copy your Statcounter code.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page of index.php file.

Paste the Statcounter code anywhere within the body tag of the so opened page (index.php).

Save it and upload the file to your web server
Using Joomla Template Editor (Method – B)

Login to your Joomla website admin panel (www.yousite.com/administrator)

Go to Extension – Template Manager

Click on the Current template.

Now click on the Edit HTML button.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Paste the Statcounter code just above the </body> tag.

Click on the Save button (Top right corner of the page)

It’s all done.
